The state Department of Health (DOH) has posted a summary of the Nursing Home Transition and Diversion (NHTD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Transition Workgroup meeting held on August 24 and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) related to the Workgroup.
The materials are available at http://www.health.ny.gov/health_care/medicaid/redesign/mrt_90.htm.
As mentioned in the September 4 ASAP, the Workgroup was established as part of an agreement to delay the transition of the NHTD and TBI waiver programs to managed care until January 1, 2017. The group was developed to discuss issues and make recommendations for the transition.
The FAQs relate to waiver services, transition plan, housing subsidy, plan oversight, person-centered plan, and other important issues.
The meeting summary clarifies that while transition activities will start January 1, 2017, the effective date for when NHTD and TBI recipients will be enrolled into MLTCs is April 1, 2017.
DOH has scheduled an NHTD/TBI Waiver Transition Subcommittee meeting for October 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The four areas of discussion will include Services and Workforce, Outreach and Education, UAS-NY, and Finance and Rates.
