A Webinar: Navigating the New State Marijuana Law

Situation Report | May 10, 2021

New York State recently passed legislation that legalizes the recreational use and possession of up to 3 ounces of marijuana by adults over age 21. It allows for recreational use prior to the beginning of and after the conclusion of the employee’s work hours.

In this May 18 webinar (from 2 to 3 p.m.), Frank Kerbein, Director for the Center for Human Resources at The Business Council of New York State, will review the provisions of the new law, how they may affect employers in general and home care providers specifically.

Frank Kerbein is responsible for advocacy on labor/HR, unemployment insurance and workers’ compensation issues, and for providing human resources consulting services to Council members. His prior work experience includes human resources staff and leadership positions in the financial services and health care arenas. He is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations with more than 35 years of experience in human resource management.
