As Flu Season Drives Demand, Get Your Staff Trained on COVID-19 Testing Today

Situation Report | October 26, 2020

With the onset of flu season, your organization’s COVID-19 testing capabilities are especially critical. Seasonal flu complicates the diagnosis of COVID-19, placing an even greater premium on the health care system’s capacity to verify and respond to COVID-19 through testing.

Are you part of this effort?

If you haven’t yet enrolled your nurses or respiratory therapists for “Home Care Clinician Training for COVID-19 Testing,” please do so today by completing the online form here. The grant coverage for this training lasts only through December.

And if you have enrolled your team, be sure that you are putting these skills into action today by connecting with physician practices, hospitals and other community partners who may end up looking to you for support in the COVID-19 response … but only if they know what you are equipped to offer.

Be sure that your community partners know that your staff are trained and ready to provide testing at home for their patients who are among the most vulnerable, are homebound, or who may otherwise be limited in their ability to travel for testing outside the home.

“Home Care Clinician Training for COVID-19 Testing” is a partnership among HCA Education and Research (HCA E&R), the Iroquois Healthcare Association (IHA) and the Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS). It is funded under a generous grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation.
