CMS to Resume Medicare Provider Enrollment Activities

The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the resumption of several Medicare provider enrollment activities that have been paused since the beginning of the public health emergency (PHE) related to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Beginning in October 2021, the following activities will be resumed. 

  • Application Fees – 42 C.F.R. 424.514
  • Criminal background checks associated with fingerprint-based criminal background checks– 42 C.F.R. 424.518
  • Revalidation – 42 C.F.R 424.515
