COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Again Extended

Situation Report | January 18, 2021

The U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar has renewed the public health emergency (PHE) related to COVID-19, effective January 21, 2021 and extending until April.

This means that certain regulatory relief measures that affect home health and hospice providers will continue until April unless the PHE is further extended.

Please see HCA’s COVID-19 resource page for a list of state and federal regulatory relief measures now in effect.

The federal PHE first was declared in January 2020 and was renewed in April, July and October 2020.
