Situation Report | October 11, 2021
Last month, the state Department of Health (DOH) released its 2022 Hospice Minimum Wage Survey regarding the state’s minimum wage increase from January 1, 2022 through January 1, 2023.
However, in light of recent changes to the New York State Labor Law as it pertains to minimum wage, the Department has updated the Hospice Survey and extended the deadline for submission to October 29, 2021.
The survey now includes areas of the state outside of the five NYC counties, Long Island and Westchester. The link to the hospice survey remains the same as in the Dear Administrator Letter.
As a reminder, if your organization is not impacted by the minimum wage increase for calendar years 2021 through 2022, or you choose to opt-out of the survey, you are still required to complete questions 1-4 and 6-7 of the survey.
Failure to complete this survey will result in default to wage data reported in the facility’s 2019 cost report, and as such, may result in no additional reimbursement. Your CEO/CFO will be required to attest to the validity of the information provided. All data will be reviewed by the Department for reasonableness and may be subject to audit.
For questions relating to the Hospice survey please send an email to the Department.
