The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced that the deadline to submit the Medicare home health Cost Report has been extended due to problems associated with COVID-19.
Most Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs) in New York file Medicare Cost Reports based on a Fiscal Year Ending (FYE) date of December 31. Those Cost Reports have traditionally been due at the end of May but have now been extended to July 31, 2020.
For CHHAs with FYE dates of October 31, 2019 or November 30, 2019, the new deadline is June 30, 2020.
HCA has confirmed this announcement with John Stoll, Manager of Provider Reimbursement at National Government Services (NGS). NGS will be confirming this news on its website at www.ngsmedicare.com.
