EVV Technical Survey Posted, Webinar Held

eMedNY has posted an Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Technical Survey and the state Department of Health (DOH) held another EVV technical assistance webinar.

This survey seeks to gather information on how organizations plan to submit EVV data to eMedNY. The intended participants of the survey are providers subject to EVV requirements, EVV vendors, Managed Care Organizations, and Verification Organizations (VOs).

Because this survey collects technical implementation data, agencies may need the assistance of their technical staff or software vendor. Providers are asked to fill out all questions as completely and accurately as possible; questions will be tailored to the organization type and implementation status that providers have identified in the first section; and individual responses will not be published.

Responses are due June 16.

Technical Assistance Webinar

On June 2, DOH held its fourth technical assistance webinar for agency technical staff, potential EVV vendors and VOs. Handouts and recordings of prior webinars and all documents related to EVV are here.

During the webinar, staff reviewed some questions it has received. DOH also said it hopes to issue a series of questions and answers once they are approved for dissemination. HCA urged that these questions and answers be posted timely as agencies are making decisions about EVV implementation now.

The state is looking for agencies who want to participate in a test of EVV; those interested should contact EVVHelp@health.ny.us. This is also the inbox for EVV-related questions.

DOH is also looking for feedback on a draft Interface Control Document that describes the relationship between the eMedNY information system and EVV submitters and specifies the requirements of both systems.

As communicated to members, EVV will apply to all Medicaid-funded personal care services delivered on or after January 1, 2021. The state has selected the “Choice Model” to meet this requirement.
