HCA Extends Fiscal Survey Deadline: Please Act Before January 19

HCA is extending the deadline for home care providers to complete our finance and trends survey. The survey, originally due today, is now due by close of business one week from today (on January 19).

This is the latest we can extend the deadline and still prepare a timely analysis of the data for the Governor, legislators, and the media as the state budget process escalates this month.

We thank providers who have already answered the survey; and we stress that many more responses are needed so that our analysis of the results is as representative as possible.

The survey takes about 20 minutes to complete. While we appreciate all of the major time and resource demands on your organization, a survey response from each home care agency across New York will collectively tell a story that is even stronger than the sum of its parts.

As Governor Cuomo stated in his State-of-the-State address yesterday, New York’s $15 billion budget gap is so big that even “extraordinary measures,” like tax increases or education cuts, would only generate a fraction of the offsets necessary to dig out of the budget hole.

“Even after all that pain, we would still need billions in cuts to health care in the middle of a pandemic and we would need to borrow billions at the cost of future generations. It would be devastating to all New Yorkers,” Cuomo said.

Please help us explain just how devastating this would be. Take our survey as soon as possible. Thank you.
