Join HCA, IPRO, HANYS and Partners for Major Cross-Sector Sepsis Summit on Oct. 3 in Albany

HCA, IPRO, HANYS, the Rory Staunton Foundation for Sepsis Prevention, Sepsis Alliance and partner organizations invite you to register for a first-of-its-kind All-Sector Sepsis Summit on October 3 in Albany.

Click the event page here for online registration and to download the brochure for the full agenda, which includes top state health officials, physician experts, representatives of the various health sectors, public policy and education partners, and quality and clinical experts.

This summit will be a major gathering of health care providers and stakeholders from all sectors to raise the dialogue about best-practices, clinical innovations, and program efforts to achieve a seamless and coordinated response to the sepsis crisis (see co-sponsors and sectors below).

The goal of this summit is to promote a true “continuum response” to sepsis, an emergency condition where collaboration and timing are absolutely key to saving health, lives and catastrophic cost.

As HCA’s Stop Sepsis at Home initiative shows, home care providers are making an impact addressing the 80 percent of sepsis cases that originate in the community, through the use of HCA’s sepsis screening tool and protocols. It’s vital that other sectors know about this work, and for all sectors to be mutually supportive in their individual system roles to screen, prevent, treat, and provide emergency services and care for patients facing this life-threatening condition.

Whether or not you’ve participated in HCA’s Stop Sepsis at Hometraining, it’s critical that your home care, hospice or MLTC program is represented at this major forum for collaboration.

Please share this announcement with your key community partners from other sectors and encourage them to attend.

Who Should Attend: Hospitals, home care agencies, physicians/physician practices, nurse practitioners, EMS, health plans, nursing homes, ID/DD providers, local aging network services agencies, and other partners.

Co-sponsoring partners include the Medical Society of the State of New York, New York State Office for the Aging, Iroquois Healthcare Alliance, LeadingAge New York, the New York State Conference of Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans, the Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Association of New York State, the United New York Ambulance Network, the New York State Health Facilities Association, the New York State Center for Assisted Living, and the Suburban Hospital Alliance.

Support for this summit is made possible, in part, with funding provided to the Home Care Association of New York State Education and Research by the New York State Health Foundation (NYSHealth) whose mission is to expand health insurance coverage, increase access to high-quality health care services, and improve public and community health.
