Incorrect Payments Made to Some FIs in March

Situation Report | April 26, 2021

HCA has learned that the state Department of Health incorrectly paid Fiscal Intermediaries (FIs) in their March Medicaid fee-for-service payments for services to consumers in the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program.

This was due to the implementation of changes that established per member per month (PMPM) payments for administrative expenses which were to start April 1 — not March 1.

In an April 13 e-mail, DOH states:

The Department is aware of the issue and is in the process of fixing it. Please note that all claims that have been submitted will adjudicate at the corrected value once the system has been corrected. We will be in touch with a cycle number and date once we have the correction in place.
