Medicaid Relief Deadline Extended Again

Situation Report | August 10, 2020

As announced in an alert to members last week, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced that the deadline for the Medicaid Provider Relief Funding was extended to August 28.

The federal Medicaid provider relief funding is for organizations who bill Medicaid fee-for-service and/or Medicaid managed care and meet other eligibility criteria.

The announcement delay (to August 28), along with FAQs, form instructions, links to previous HHS webinars, a web portal video and other tools, are here.

On July 10, HCA held a webinar on this potential source of provider funding; to obtain a recording of the webinar, contact Teresa Brown.

Also, starting the week of August 10, providers who missed out on payments due to changes in ownership (where payments were made to previous owners) may submit their revenue information, along with documentation proving a change in ownership, by August 28, for consideration for Provider Relief Fund payment.
