Minimum Wage Levels Announced for 2022

On September 22, 2021, the state Division of the Budget (DOB) issued its report on minimum wage rates scheduled to take effect on December 31, 2021.

The new minimum wage for Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester, effective December 31, 2021, will be $15 per hour.  

The new minimum wage amount for ‘rest of state” will be $13.20 per hour, an increase of 70 cents from last year. 

For New York City (NYC), the minimum wage will remain at $15 per hour. 

Please note that agencies who provide Medicaid-covered home care services in NYC and/or Long Island/Westchester must also comply with state wage parity requirements.
