Politico Report: State Medicaid Director Frescatore to Retire in August

According to a June 2 report in Politico New York, the state’s Medicaid Director, Donna Frescatore, will officially step down in August.

Frescatore, who is also Executive Director of NY State of Health, will retire from her positions effective August 11, after 40 years in state government, Politico reported.

Brett Friedman, director of strategic initiatives and special Medicaid counsel at the Department of Health’s Office of Health Insurance Programs, “will serve as the new point person for Medicaid and the Office of Health Insurance Programs,” the news report states. 

The state Medicaid Director encompasses a wide range of roles and responsibilities with oversight of the Medicaid program.
