Psychological First Aide and Personal Resilience & Stress Inoculation Webinars

The Institute for Disaster Mental Health (IDMH) at SUNY New Paltz is offering two free virtual courses during the month of June on Psychological First Aid and Personal Resilience & Stress Inoculation (4 sessions of each). 

Psychological First Aide is an early intervention that can be used to support anyone who is stressed or distressed, including patients, clients, and colleagues. This training (register here) will present a toolkit of supportive elements that can be used to help others, regardless of the setting or source of the stress, in order to remove barriers to natural resilience. Sessions are on the following dates:

  • June 11, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
  • June 21, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
  • June 22, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
  • June 29, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Personal Resilience & Stress Inoculation is a webinar (register here) that will provide an overview on how stress impacts brain functioning. It takes an applied focus on understanding how to manage stress, with an emphasis on building and maintaining resilience through cognitive approaches including stress inoculation. Sessions are on the following dates:

  • June 9 from 3 to 4 p.m.
  • June 16, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
  • June 17, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • June 25, from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
