End-of-the-year Congressional activity is putting home care at risk, and we need your action now to reach your Congressional Representatives in Washington.
Amid the flurry of activity is extender legislation that reportedly includes some version of the Home Health Groupings Model (HHGM) or other cuts that may be as high as $3 billion to $6 billion nationally over ten years, according to our partners at the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC).
Also in the mix is an extension of the home health rural add-on, though this extension is reportedly coming with strings attached, including eligibility changes or phase-outs, not to mention the crushing weight of HHGM or other cuts that would completely engulf any support from the rural add-on, affecting all providers regardless of your region.
HCA has posted a new Legislative Action Center campaign calling on Congress to reject any further cuts to home care and pass a straightforward extension of the rural add-on.
Please write your Member of Congress today. It only takes a minute of time and all providers must do so TODAY, before final legislation takes shape in the waning days of 2017. Please also urge your staff to do the same.
