Caring Gene® Career Fair an Opportunity to Recruit LTC Workforce in Home Care: First Session on Feb. 9

Situation Report | January 25, 2021

The Iroquois Healthcare Alliance (IHA), through its Caring Gene® initiative (part of the state’s Long Term Care Workforce Investment Organization program), is holding a series of career fairs which are an opportunity for HCA and other members in long term care to recruit home health aides and other staff. Spaces are free of charge for registrants.

The first session is on February 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for providers and applicants in the Long Island Region. Six other dates follow for six other regions covering all of New York State.

During the fair, providers will be able to interact with prospective candidates through video chat, eliminating the immediate need to meet face-to-face. By participating, you will also receive access to attendee information, allowing you to continue the conversation long after the event is over.

More details are in the flyer here.

IHA is a partner with HCA on several initiatives, like our Home Care Clinician Training for COVID-19 Testing program and Statewide Hospital-Home Care Collaborative for COVID-19 and Beyond. Given the major challenges of home care recruitment and retention, we strongly encourage HCA members to take part in this opportunity.
