COVID-19 Briefs for April 12, 2021

Situation Report | April 12, 2021

The following are recent briefs on COVID-19 and vaccinations.

Walk-Up Vaccine Sites for Home Care Workers and Seniors

Home care workers can take a senior who is 75 years or older for a walk-in vaccine appointment at one of 26 city-run vaccination sites. Both the senior and an eligible companion can be vaccinated as walk-ins without prior appointment.

The full list of sites taking these walk-in appointments can be found here. These will be updated weekly on the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH) website.

Individuals can make a vaccine appointment at many locations throughout the city using the NYC Vaccine Finder or by calling 1-877-VAX-4NYC.

Infection Control in the Home Care Sector

NYC DOHMH is holding a webinar on Infection Control in the Home Care Sector. It will be given on April 15, 2021 from 11 a.m. to noon. Any questions can be directed to agakui@nychhc.org.

Capital Region Vaccinations for Home Care

Counties have taken the lead in vaccinating individuals at home by using their own staff, emergency medical services, home care agencies, home visiting physician groups and others. Home care agency staff and patients who want to obtain a vaccine are advised to pre-register at https://alb.518c19.com, and check the Capital Region’s hub website at CapitalRegionVax.org for vaccination sites.
