The federal Office of Inspector General (OIG) has posted its revised Work Plan.
One item of interest includes:
- Identifying Denied Claims in Medicare Advantage (MA) Encounter Data. This work will: (1) to determine the extent to which the MA encounter data contained potentially denied claims and (2) to identify any challenges to MA program oversight that results from the lack of a denied claim indicator on services in the MA encounter data.
