HCA reminds members that the fifth vesting period for the Health Care Worker Bonus (HWB) program that started October 1, 2023 will end on March 31, 2024. Agencies will have to submit their claims to receive bonus funding for their eligible employees for this period in April.
Those eligible under this vesting period must have been continuously employed by a qualified employer for the duration of this time period.
HCA has also learned that claims submitted in October for the fourth vesting period (covering those employed from April 1, 2023 to September 30, 2023) were recently paid.
Employers have 30 days from their receipt of the bonus payments to distribute them to their eligible employees.
The correction of underpaid bonuses feature exists for Employers to correct awarded bonuses ranging from $0.00 to $1000.00 which were determined by the Employer to have been lower than they should have been. The process assumes an issue with either the recorded salary or average weekly hours worked and allows for the modification of those values for any underpaid employee.
