Guidance Posted for Temporary Health Care Services Agencies

The Situation Report | September 25, 2023

The state Department of Health (DOH) has posted guidance about a recent state budget provision that requires health care services agencies that provide temporary employment of health care professionals and personnel to register with DOH.

Of particular interest to home care providers, the guidance indicates that:

Neither home care agencies nor individuals who only provide their own services on a temporary basis to health care entities, are included in the definition of Temporary Health Care Services Agency.

Those entities that are considered Temporary Health Care Services Agencies must submit certain materials and a fee of $1,000 by October 30, 2023 (recently delayed to this date). They also must file a report covering August 1 – October 31, 2023 by November 30.
