Situation Report | November 22, 2021
The HCA Board of Directors and public policy team, with input from the HCA Policy Council, member forums, overall HCA membership and our national affiliates and advisors are developing HCA’s 2022 priority targets for upcoming state and federal legislative and budgetary venues.
Chief areas include the home care workforce, financial support and investment in home care organizations (all levels of HCA member providers, programs and plans), system improvements and service/patient care advancements and critical education of policymakers, health professionals and the general public in home care basics.
HCA is currently engaged in major state, federal and industry-level advocacy on core issues impacting the home and community-based system. But simultaneously, we are in strategic planning for the venues ahead, which have major, potentially historic ramifications for the field and its future.
Please share your insights, priorities and feedback with HCA as we develop and hone these targeted 2022 priorities. The Association will soon be developing and issuing our comprehensive Financial Conditions Survey to garner individual provider data and input, in combination with the HCA’s industry-leading home care, hospice and managed long term care data base, to compile a 2022 State of the Industry Report to feed and provide compelling evidence for the sector’s priority needs. HCA will need the broadest possible input and participation for the 2022 report and for the critical advocacy effort that lies ahead. View HCA’s 2021 State of the Industry Report.
In the meantime, your participation in our monthly member forums (next discussed) is vital and provides field level input into this planning and strategic process. Please read about these forums in the ensuing article and register to participate. Add your voice, insights and expertise to this critical planning and prioritization effort.
