Healthcare Worker Bonus Program Update

Action required by March 31  

Those providers who were unable to access the Healthcare Worker Bonus Program portal and submitted a survey to the state Department of Health (DOH) in December 2022 need to take further action by March 31.  This process was taken to ensure that non-payable, Managed Care Only and OPRA (Ordering, Prescribing, Referring, Attending) providers who otherwise meet the eligibility criteria as defined for the Healthcare Worker Bonus (HWB), have a means in which to register for the HWB Program. 

On March 23, DOH sent an email to such providers with the following instructions. 

If you already have a Statewide Financial System (SFS) ID, please send an email to NYSWorkersBonus@health.ny.gov with the following information: 

  1. MMIS ID enrolled in eMedNY 
  1. Your Organization’s Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) 
  1. Your SFS ID  

DOH will coordinate permissions for you to register in the HWB Portal and contact you when you can register. 

If you DO NOT already have an SFS ID, follow the instructions below to attain one: 

  1. Fill out the critical fields highlighted in the spreadsheet that was attached to the March 23 email. 
  1. PLEASE ENSURE ALL INFORMATION IS ACCURATE AND UP TO DATE 
  1. If information is not accurate or complete, DOH cannot guarantee your enrollment 
  1. Reply to DOH’s email with the completed spreadsheet attached 

DOH will then use this information to obtain an SFS ID for you.  Once completed, you will be contacted by representatives of the New York State Financial System confirming your SFS ID. 

DOH will then coordinate permissions for you to register in the HWB Portal and contact you when you can register. 

For additional details on registering and submitting for the HWB Portal go to the DOH Website. Please respond to this email by March 31st, 2023.  Any responses received after this date may be deemed ineligible.
