Home Care Cost Report Session Discusses Schedules 3 and 4

Situation Report | October 13, 2020

On October 8, the state Department of Health (DOH) and KPMG, the state’s contractor, held a special webinar to discuss recent new guidance on Schedules 3 and 4 of the new Home Care Cost Report.

The program provided a comprehensive review of various columns in these two schedules and also discussed Schedule 5.

As communicated many times, the new Home Care Cost Report is due October 31 (by 11:59 p.m.). At the request of HCA and other associations, DOH has assured us that it will not penalize providers for incomplete or inaccurate data at the outset of this new report. Providers should make their “best estimates” and explain how they developed such data.

Audits will start October 28 and will continue from November to January. A “Lessons Learned” webinar is planned for January 2021.

Previous webinars, including the September 17 one on audits, are posted on the Cost Report platform tool (see “Instructions” tab and “Useful Links”).

At HCA’s suggestion, KPMG agreed to e-mail the webinar’s slides so that agencies can review them prior to them being posted on the Cost Report online tool.
