Home Care COVID-19 Testing Course Remains Tuition-Free Through MCHF Grant Extension: Enroll Today!

Situation Report | February 1, 2021

HCA’s Home Care Clinician Training for COVID-19 Testing will continue to be available free of charge and on-demand at least through June 2021, thanks to a recent grant extension from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation.

Please enroll your nurses and respiratory therapists for this course today. If some of your staff have already trained, please also consider enrolling additional staff. You can enroll as many staff as you’d like, at any time, using our enrollment form.

This training is led by clinical experts at Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) who, along with the Iroquois Healthcare Alliance (IHA), are project partners with HCA on this grant.

So far, over 2,000 nurses and other staff have taken the training, which outlines the specialized protocols for specimen-collection procedures, including donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE) used in the home; specimen collection procedures; specimen storage and transport; and other necessary information from state and federal guidelines.

The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation grant supports this overall effort, including tuition coverage for the training, which is available on IHA’s HealthStream Learning Management System for those who register.
