Home Care Registry Advisory

Situation Report | January 18, 2021

The state Department of Health (DOH) has advised HCA that some employers are hurriedly entering information into the Home Care Registry which is leading to entry mistakes that are making it difficult for DOH to complete its tasks and “match” individuals to their criminal history record check (CHRC) information.

Members are urged to carefully enter the information, check the spelling of names and include the last four digits of the Social Security number. DOH is encountering instances in which employers are neglecting to enter the last four digits of the Social Security number or entering 0000.

As a result of inaccuracies, employers will find that DOH determinations are taking longer and there will be more instances in which providers and patients are at risk due to inaccuracies.
