The state Department of Health has posted Unwinding from the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) Stakeholder Questions and Answers, a collection of answers to inquiries regarding New York’s redetermination process now that the Continuous Coverage Requirement has ended for Medicaid, Child Health Plus, and the Essential Plan.

It includes sections on Opportunities for Health Plans to Support the Unwind; Health Plans Updating Contact Information; Local Departments of Social Services (LDSS) or the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA); outreach; dual eligibles; and more.

This document will be updated regularly with additional questions and new information.

In addition, DOH has also posted the first issue of New York’s Public Health Emergency Unwind Dashboard, a monthly report reflecting data on renewal status, demographics, and program transitions for public health insurance enrollees. The report indicates that roughly 72 percent of New Yorkers enrolled in Medicaid, Child Health Plus, or the Essential Plan renewed their coverage before the June deadline to re-enroll.

The monthly reports will be posted to the NY State of Health PHE Unwind Dashboard website as well as the NYS Medicaid Data and Reports webpage. Additional information also available on these web pages includes:
