The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced the new premiums, deductibles, and copayment amounts for Medicare in 2021.
These include:
- The Medicare Part B monthly premium is $148.50 in 2021, an increase of $3.90 from $144.60 in 2020.
- The annual deductible for Medicare Part B beneficiaries is $203 in 2021, an increase of $5 from $198 in 2020.
- The Medicare Part A inpatient hospital deductible is $1,484 in 2021, an increase of $76 from $1,408 in 2020.
- The daily coinsurance amounts will be: $371 (up from $352) for the 61st through 90th day of hospitalization in a benefit period; $742 (up from $704) for lifetime reserve days; and $185.50 (up from $176) for the 21st through 100th day of a skilled nursing facility stay.
