The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the new premiums, deductibles and copayment amounts for Medicare in 2022, including:
- The Medicare Part B monthly premium is $170.10 (an increase of $21.60 from $148.50 in 2021).
- The annual deductible for Medicare Part B beneficiaries is $233 (up $30 from $203 in 2021).
- The Medicare Part A inpatient hospital deductible is $1,556 (up $72 from $1,484 in 2021).
- The daily coinsurance amounts will be $389 (up from $371) for the 61st through 90th day of hospitalization in a benefit period; $778 (up from $742) for lifetime reserve days; and $194.50 (up from $185.50) for the 21st through 100th day of a skilled nursing facility stay.
