Home health providers can now download the fourth quarter 2019 release of the Program for Evaluating Payment Patterns Electronic Report (PEPPER) with statistics through December 2019. It is at https://pepperfile.cbrpepper.org/#.
PEPPER is an educational tool developed by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). It summarizes provider-specific data statistics for Medicare services that may be at risk for improper payments. Providers can use the data to support internal auditing and monitoring activities.
To obtain your agency’s PEPPER, the Chief Executive Officer, President, Administrator, Compliance Officer, or Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Officer should follow the steps in the Secure PEPPER Access Guide.
The PEPPER report will be available to download for approximately two years. A webinar to review the new PEPPER is scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, at 3 p.m. More information is here.
