Situation Report | September 12, 2022

The Department of Financial Services (DFS) has announced employee contribution and benefit rates for Paid Family Leave (PFL) for 2023. Despite the impact of COVID and the addition of siblings to the list of family members for whom employees may take PFL to care for when they experience a serious health condition, the employee contribution has been reduced by 10% ($423.71 to $399.43). As the state’s average weekly wage for 2023 increased to $1,688.19, the maximum weekly benefit available to employees increased by $62.72 to $1,131.08 (67% of the state’s average weekly wage).
