The New York City (NYC) Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) has engaged with the NYC home care sector via state home care associations to enhance emergency preparedness capabilities, including situational awareness, education, and training. Over the past six years, the following gaps were identified within the home care sector:
Under this grant period (July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024), HCA Education and Research (E&R) will carry out specific activities that will enhance home care’s emergency preparedness planning related to capabilities outlined by the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) and the Healthcare Preparedness Program (HPP).
