HCA Education & Research (HCA E & R) is continuously conceptualizing, applying for, and receiving funding to support efforts that demonstrate and strengthen the breadth of healthcare service delivery in the home. This includes the design, implementation, and execution of a wide-ranging portfolio of grant-funded initiatives.
Opportunity largely otherwise prohibited budgetarily, HCA E & R utilizes these grant opportunities to provide supportive services, explore innovative ideas, test concepts, foster and fortify partnerships, and more – all of which demonstrates the breadth of impact that home healthcare and hospice services have on the healthcare system and patients across New York State.
Current and/or former grant-funded initiatives have focused on workforce issues, hospital-home care collaboration, emergency preparedness, sepsis prevention & intervention, health disparities, virtual senior center services, infection prevention & control, collaborative models of community medicine & paramedicine, and more. A comprehensive list with further detail can be found below.
These initiatives benefit the Association’s members and the industry at large, but nearly all of them also engage and leverage the HCANYS' strong partnerships with other state associations within the healthcare sector, along with hospitals, major universities, local and state agencies and many others.
Collaboration at this level demonstrates to decisionmakers at various levels just how much innovation within healthcare delivery is possible with home care agency leadership and service delivery.
